lyrics

This time last week I was driving home on country roads, on my way back from my regular life-drawing classes, the ones I take every other Tuesday

And thinking of you!

And as the windscreen wipers ricocheted back and forth across my filthy viewport to a world of open roads and slightly less open windows of opportunity

I’m still thinking of you!

I’d tell you how I love you, but I know I’d tell it wrong
So I’ll still borrowed words and cliched verse into your song.

About half way home I pulled into a petrol station to fill up the tank, the one which sells pine-scented air fresheners for about 50% off, you know the one

I’m thinking of you!

And I was listening to the radio, and they had a segment where they asked, nay encouraged, the audience to ring up, and they would play whichever song you were thinking of

But I was thinking of you!

I’d tell you how I love you, but I know I’d tell it wrong
So I’ll still borrowed words and cliched verse into your song.

All these those words are for the most cliche song that I wrote for you while on the road
I may not say the right words at the in right time but I'll make sure I sing my heart true

Got home to my lonely one bedroom apartment, turned on the lights, and went through the corridor and up the stairs, and then straight to the kitchen to start dinner.

I’m making a stew!

And after I ate, I turned on the television, tuned in to watch the re-run of last week’s episode of the latest season of Masterchef

On BBC2!

I’d tell you how I love you, but I know I’d tell it wrong
So I’ll still borrowed words and cliched verse into your song.

All these those words are for the most cliche song that I wrote for you while on the road
I may not say the right words at the in right time but I'll make sure I sing my heart true
