Alone with my own thoughts
I’m filling up the sink.
An hour of gentle manual work
And all the time to think!
The gentle silence fills my ears
And I begin to sweat
An hour of silence, by myself,
I’m seeing as a threat!
Next thing I know, I’m putting down the plate and then
I’m getting out my phone,
I need to fill the silence
Cause I can’t be all alone!
I feel my heart rate slowing down
as the YouTube video plays.
But slightly sad, as my rainbow thoughts
Are muted into grays!
It has to be now, now, now, now now now!
It’s the silence that I dread
Causing violence in my head!
It has to be now, now, now, now now now,
But would it be so bad if I just stayed…?
Instant gratification’s the name of the game.
A thousand brilliant ideas are always in my head…
But it always ends the same.
I sit down with a paintbrush and my eyes glaze over dead!
I see clearly as day
the art I want to create,
but all this work is in the way…
I know I have the time
To write a thousand lines,
But then I see Steam down in the tray…
I could be great!
But I ain’t,
I just want to sit and play,
as my hours roll away,
and I just can’t escape!
I have all I need right here
To keep me in the clear
But if it takes a year
Then it’s not fast enough…
It has to be now, now, now, now now now!
My hard drive is the grave
Of a thousand started greats
It has to be now, now, now, now now now,
But what could I create if I just stayed…?
It has to be now, now, now, now now now!
I’m filling every space
with the dopamine I chase
It has to be now, now, now, now now now,
But I just wish that I could wait…

This is a great adaptation of Arthuriana and a brilliant narrative album. I love how the queerness of the characters is handled as an integral part of the narrative and plot development without it being the end all be all of the characters themselves. my boy Gawain deserved better though maritarvaniti
