You preached to the choir for many years
Painted yourself as the blood sweat and tears
Dropped from the people for their hope and dreams
We assumed possibility so you assumed responsibility
Then the ground turned over and you cut the cord
When the dark followed us you kept your hoard
Tell me again about the wolves around the den
How you are the only one who can make things great again
You are a hero, to the kid on his private Boeing
Giving the next bid to the firm your in-laws are leading
(I remember)
Pinning the blame on those who can’t talk back
(I remember)
Fanning the flame of discrimination history has always been seeing
(I remember)
I’ve seen the sin, I’ve seen the sinner
I’ve heard the lie and I‘ve let it simmer
You’ve let roses wither, hopes disappear
I’ve given time for you to deliver
All the promises you gave for the better
(All the promises you gave for the better)
I remember when your legacy of poverty and ignorance
Started to flood the surface, we asked questions
You smiled in your arrogance said it held no importance
As if it wasn’t all simple: for your indulgence
Her zamanki gibi faturayı ödeyen hepimiz olduk
Kendimi bildim bileli sizin gibilerin yüzünden sinirlerim bozuk
Sözünüz de yüzünün aynası seneler geçti bezdirdiniz bizi şu düzenden
Arkanızda size razı olan bir takım gözü dönmüş reziller
İşin özü hep barizdi ama yanlışlarını kabul etmediler
Chorus
Thought there was something between, some respect
Nah, you aren't at all what we expect
World. Wide. Web.
Which track of mine online makes you think
Me who pings love and respect worldwide
Would process this idle with no repercussions
Results of raytracing: null resolutions;
Object is not committed to fix any issues
There was trust in your certificate
Now you have lost it in your obsession
Demanding submission? You jest clearly
If you don’t think I’ll catch your promises
Then you are mistaken dearly
Chorus
All the promises you gave for the better

Now an experienced hand at timed songwriting challenges, Ben took on the February Album Writing Challenge on his own (well, with a little help) in 2019. This is the result. Softwire

TTBT has some of my favorite songs written by The Mechs. Iphis is my personal favorite due to its ties with Greek Mythology, but it's definitely an album I have on repeat constantly. yumeinati

This is a great adaptation of Arthuriana and a brilliant narrative album. I love how the queerness of the characters is handled as an integral part of the narrative and plot development without it being the end all be all of the characters themselves. my boy Gawain deserved better though maritarvaniti
